The Montpellier SupAgro Exchange Program allows qualified graduate students the opportunity to pursue a semester of research and coursework in environmental and conservation studies. To apply, please provide

  • a brief (2 page) curriculum vitae or resume
  • a copy of your UW transcript
  • a 1-2 page essay which discusses:
    1. A specific proposed plan of study in Montpellier (courses, research, or a mixture of the two). Please read the SupAgro homepage and/or contact us for ideas about possible courses and research topics and advisors in Montpellier.
    2. The relationship of your proposed exchange work to your academic program at UW and to your professional goals
    3. A self-assessment of your French language ability
  • a brief letter or email from your advisor, endorsing your application for this exchange

French Filmmaker and Screenwriter Pierre Sauvage to Speak at UW-Madison

Free and open to the public

 

Pierre Sauvage is a child-survivor of the Holocaust and President of the non-profit Chambon Foundation, dedicated to exploring and communicating the lessons of hope and despair resulting from the Holocaust. An Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, Mr. Sauvage is best known for his 1989 documentary Weapons of the Spirit, which tells the story of a small Protestant village in France occupied by German soldiers. His current interests focus on American reactions to the massacre of Jews in Europe. He lives and works in Los Angeles.

 

This event is co-sponsored by the Global Legal Studies Center, the Division of International Studies, the Mosse/Weinstein Center for Jewish Studies, and the Department of Communication Arts.
