Discussions on French Immersion Programs in Madison
The Center for Interdisciplinary French Studies was pleased to host Consul Général Guillaume Lacroix and the Science Attaché James Dat on their second visit to Madison. During his visit, the Consul met with organizers in the Madison Metropolitan School District, leading community members, as well as university faculty to discuss the potential for developing French Immersion programs in elementary through high school education. The French language immersion program initiative was met with much enthusiasm, and participants
look forward to developing plans further over the next coming months. This is an exciting project for which the CIFS is well-positioned to support the collaboration between the University, K-12 education programs, and the local francophone/francophile community, French businesses, and the French Consulate and the Embassy here in Madison.
